Ajoku explains goal drought

Chidiebere Ajoku

Niger Tornadoes striker, Chidiebere Ajoku has explained his recent goal drought in the on-going Nigerian top-flight.

The former Heartland marksman started the top-flight like house on fire banging in goals for the Minna landlords but lately his once
well-oiled goal scoring machine has dried up.

The Ikon Allah Boys’ top scorer has scored four goals in nine matches in the on-going top-flight.

Ajoku said he is still potent as well as lethal but of late has had few playing time in the Minna outfit.
“I have done more assist than actually scoring in most of the few matches I have played.

“Of late I have not been getting more and regular playing time not that I’m sick or injured.
“Of course, there is no how a player will score goal on the bench but on the field of play.

“There is nothing wrong with me or ability to score I still remain a prolific and lethal finisher.

“I know for certain that the goals will start coming once I have the opportunity or more playing time.
“I have already scored four goals in cumulatively nine matches and I hope to up the goal tally whenever I get the nod,” said the Minna landlords’ hitman to supersport.com.

Niger Tornadoes are fourth on the 20-team top-flight on 27 points five behind league leaders, Plateau United.
