MFM FC midfielder Chukwuka Onuwa has urged his teammates to step up their game to ensure that they claim the full points when they face Lobi Stars in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) this Sunday.

The MFM playmaker's call to his teammates comes just after their 0-4 defeat to FC Ifeanyiubah in midweek in a game he came off the bench before the break to replace Suleiman Abdullahi.

He promised that the episode at Nnewi against FC Ifeanyiubah would not happen again as they play hosts to Lobi at the Agege Stadium, now nicknamed Soccer Temple.

Onuwa knows that Lobi will be dangerous opponents for his team having played against them in pre-season in the Gold Cup which the Makurdi club won on penalties to win the tournament in December.

"First and foremost I will like to thank our fans for their
support and for their warm reception after our loss in Nnewi.

"Our focus now is on the Lobi Stars game with the sole aim of claiming the three crucial points at stake.
"Don't forget that we played Lobi during the Gold Cup pre-season tournament in Ijebu-Ode and we also saw their game against Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) where they lost 2-0. Their approach on the field of play is not new to us," Onuwa told the club's official website, mountaintopfc.com.

The playmaker also revealed that the team have worked together "tirelessly" as a group after their loss at FC Ifeanyiubah and are now raring to have a go at Lobi.

"The (MFM) head coach (Fidelis Ilechukwu) and his coaching crew have been working tirelessly for us to bounce back and I believe we will. We, the players, know the importance of the game and we have urged ourselves to go all out for victory," Onuwa said.

Onuwa and his teammates start Matchday 3 in the NPFL in 11th place.
