‘Wikki not in Uyo for tourism’

Mustapha Ibrahim

Wikki Tourists right back, Mustapha Ibrahim has said his side are not in Uyo for tourism against top-flights, Akwa United.

The Bauchi Elephants are guests of the Promise Keepers in Wednesday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) rescheduled matchday 23 clash at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

The Bauchi outfit smiled home with a 1-0 win against the Uyo landlords in the first fixture clash in Bauchi.
Ibrahim admitted that it’s quite disturbing that his side are yet to pick a point on the road in the 24-week old top-flight.

“Of course, we are not in Uyo for tourism but to take the whole three
points at stake against Akwa United or worst case scenario a draw.

“It’s still disturbing and a mystery that we are yet to claim a point on the road so far in the on-going top-flight.

“Akwa United are good side with a coach that worked with us in the immediate past league season.
“Coach Maikaba has a good knowledge of the makeup of our team as well as capability we also have new additions not known to him.

“That’s the joker we hope to use against his side to successfully challenge for the whole points at stake.

“We are going to block and upturn every of his match plan to stop us from taking something decent back home.

“We have resolved to end the futile search for away point(s) today (Wednesday) at Akwa United which will greatly boost our morale in Sunday’s date at FC IfeanyiUbah in Nnewi,” said the Wikki Tourists captain and former Nigerian junior international strongman to supersport.com.

The Bauchi landlords are 15th on the 20-team top-flight log on 30 points 15 behind league leaders, Plateau United.
