Plateau Utd still on course - Golbe

Though still top of the league, the result put a dent to Plateau United’s charge for a first ever national title as Kennedy Boboye’s charges dropped three points.
Golbe believes the loss can only galvanise his side to do more as the league gets into the deep end with only 13 games left of the 2016/17 season.
With 45 points after 25 games, Plateau United are the stand-out team at the moment with the most goals scored and also possessing the second-best defence in the league after
Nasarawa United.
The skipper is not impressed by stats and reveals the team are still on their toes irrespective of where they occupy on the league table.
“We have a mission. A mission we gave ourselves since the start of the season and it is the same with 25 matches gone in the league,” he told supersport.com.
“The lads want to win. The determination is there and this has shown in a lot of the games we have played both home and away.
“What happened against Abia Warriors was unfortunate. We did enough to get something from the game but it didn’t happen. We have put that behind us and we are focusing on the next game.
“For us, every game is like a cup final. We don’t play like we are home or away. We play the same way everywhere we go. Coach (Kennedy) Boboye and our other coaches have been working on the team and we hope to translate what we have learnt on the pitch.
“We will continue to battle it out until the final day of the season. I’m sure that at the end of the day we shall give the people of Plateau State something to smile about.”
