Nasarawa's win vs. Rivers well deserved

Austine Eguavoen expresses satisfaction with Sunshine Stars' 2-0 win over Nigeria Professional Football League reigning champions, Enugu Rangers on Sunday.

Eguavoen made his debut as the Owena Whales' coach and got a victory over the Flying Antelopes, thus propelling his side to 14th place
in the log, with 24 points from 19 matches.

The former Super Eagles defender noted that although he was satisfied with his team's performance, he observed some lapses that  need to be worked on ahead of the second round of matches.

"I am impressed with the performance we put up against Rangers, though we won but there are obvious places we need to work on," Eguavoen told Goal.

"The organization of the team was very good because Rangers didn't get a clear cut chance at the goal.

"They kept the ball well but don't forget that they are the reigning champions. To curb any form of pressure due to the situation we are in, we told the boys to enjoy themselves and the result will come.

"Akure fans showed great passion, they love football, they don't want their team to lose but emotions must be controlled especially when the team hasn't scored yet. We don't pray for the worse, we want to keep winning so that the fans will be happy."
