FC IfeanyiUbah’s Everton pleased with derby win vs Rangers
The Anambra Warrior assistant handler is delighted with their win over the reigning Nigeria topflight champions
Prince Aggreh converted from the spot in the 76th minute to settle the intense clash and the Brazilian tactician hailed his side for getting the desired result over Imama Amakapabo’s men.
“Before the game everybody [predicted] victory because we were playing at home in Nnewi, so everyone gave us a chance,” Everton told Goal.
“It was a strong match because it was a local
derby. A very difficult match. It was a great result for IfeanyiUbah because before we were placed in a bad position.
“It is gradual. The team comes here and play good football. We now have new players, new tactics, everything now is new. Maybe after five, six matches again we will play good football.”
The gaffer has also hailed debutant, Godwin Obaje who made an instant impact off the bench to help the Nnewi based side to their second win of the season.
“He is a very good player, very positive player he is. Because he scored many goals last season [at Wikki Tourist],” he said.
“Good striker with the required intelligence to match. I believe he will score many goals for us this season.”
The reigning Federation Cup champions are placed 12th on the topflight log, with seven points from six games.
