Shooting Stars 1-1 MFM FC: Adebayo rescues point for Oluyole Warriors
Olatunbosun’s goal gave the visitors hope of a
much-needed victory at Lekan Salami Stadium, but the hosts levelled
proceedings with a late penalty
The Lagos based outfit were on the brink of securing an away victory after Sikiru Olatunbosun’s first-half goal looked to be enough to send the travelling MFM supporters home delighted, but a moment of carelessness saw them concede an 89th minute penalty with goalkeeper Ospino Egbe sent the wrong way.
Shooting Stars made a rapid start and Fatai Amoo’s men threatened
to inflict a second defeat of the campaign on Fidelis Ilechukwu’s men with a goal after five minutes.
The away side's sturdy defence frustrated 3SC for much of the match and luck appeared to be on their side when they took the lead before half-time.
The home draw leaves the Oluyole Warriors in 15th, six points adrift of leaders Plateau United, while MFM FC are third after a stoic defensive showing.
