Mbaoma: We owe Remo Stars chairman a lot
Remo Stars' captain, Victor Mbaoma has stated that the team owe club chairman, Kunle Soname a lot for giving them an opportunity to play football.
The Sky Blue Stars have had a rough start to their debut in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) after losing at home to Plateau United and only secured their first win in the NPFL after three matches.
Mbaoma has been part of Remo Stars history as he is amongst the 13 players that joined the Sky Blue Stars from Lagos Junior League team, Ikosi Isheri six years ago and he has continued to say joyfully that the insistent of the club chairman to give young players a chance to play has been the reason he and a lot of other players enjoy such opportunity to play at this level.
"I have always dreamt of playing in the elite league in Nigeria even when it never looked like it," Mbaoma told Goal.
"But I must say that the credit goes the chairman of Remo Stars, Mr Kunle Soname for giving such young players an opportunity to play at this level.
"We are a young team with no experience playing at this level yet he has
always assured us of his confidence in us to deliver.
"We've got only option and that's to pay him back with very good performances and result. Though it was tough especially after losing at home in our first match but now that we have secured our first win we shall take that to every match with a determination to improve on our points."
Remo Stars are 14th on the NPFL log, three steps above the relegation zone.
