Ikeme’s deal was to expire at the end of the current season but has now committed to staying at Molineux for two and a half more years.
The 30-year-old has been at Wolves since he was 15 even though he has been on
loan on different occasions before finally settling down at Wolves three seasons ago.
“I think it is important to get players like Carl Ikeme signed up to a new deal,” Wolves head coach Paul Lambert told wolves.co.uk.
“As it was with Dave Edwards, he is an experienced member of the team. He knows exactly what the club is about and if you get a core of lads like that then they can look after the dressing room as well.
“Carl has been terrific since I arrived and I think this is a big signing for the club.” he added.
Ikeme made his international debut against Tanzania in 2015 keeping a clean sheet at Nigeria eked out a goalless draw against the Taifa Stars in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
