Governor Ugwuanyi rewards Enugu Rangers players
Management and players of Enugu Rangers have been rewarded by the state government for their triumph at the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in the 2015/16 season.
The Flying Antelopes won the title courtesy of a 4-0 thumping of El-Kanemi Warriors on the final day of the last campaign.
At a dinner hosted by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi at the Okpara Square on Monday, the state gave a cheque of #41,500,000 to
the management and staff of the history makers.
Each player also got a plot of land at the newly designed Rangers estate. The dinner was attended by top dignitaries in the Coal City state.
Sultan of Sokoto Sa'ad Abubakar, who is a great Rangers supporter was the special guest of honour at the event.
Meanwhile, Chief Benson Ejindu hosted the victorious Rangers team at the Dome Centre New Haven at 5pm.
The Rangers patron doled out the sum of #1,500,000 to be shared by the players and coaches of the reigning league champions.
