Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho remains Barcelona's number one transfer target
Philippe Coutinho reported
for training at Liverpool's Melwood base as usual on Tuesday amid
continued speculation over a move to Barcelona.
Catalonian newspaper Deportes claim Barcelona directors are in England this week for talks with Coutinho's representatives in the hope of striking a deal.
officials in Germany trying to secure the signing of Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund, while Liverpool are also unaware of any Barca officials being in England.
Liverpool's position remains unchanged - Coutinho is not for sale - and the two clubs have not been in contact since last month when the Reds rejected an initial offer of £72m.
It has since emerged that Coutinho wants to make the switch to Spain but will not push his current club to make a decision against their will, despite Barca being willing to offer £109m to secure him.
Ahead of the new Premier League season, Sky Sports football expert Jamie Carragher has said he expects Coutinho, who signed a new five-year contract in January, to remain at Anfield for at least another 12 months.
Barcelona are looking to spend "sensibly, strictly and wisely" a new £200m-worth of windfall from Neymar's sale to Paris Saint-Germain, according to president Pep Bartomeu.
Sky Sports News understands Coutinho remains Barca's No 1 target, while they also want Dembele and Monaco's Thomas Lemar.
