Jack Wilshere has been sent off in an Arsenal U23s match against Manchester City after a brawl with opposition players.
The midfielder, who was making his second appearance for Arsenal after coming back from a fractured leg, picked up a straight red card for shoving
City's Matthew Smith in Monday night's 4-3 Premier League 2 win at the Emirates Stadium.

Wilshere reacted to Smith's late tackle in the centre of the pitch and pushed the City man aggressively in the chest, sending him falling to the ground.

The England international then became involved in a shoving match with Tyreke Wilson after the City defender ran up to confront him, and the incident sparked further unrest between the players.
Referee Samuel Allison then issued straight red cards to Wilshere and Wilson in the 63rd minute of the game.
Wilshere had produced an encouraging performance until that point, including a excellent assist for Arsenal's third goal, scored by Eddie Nketiah.

Although Wilshere will not be suspended for any senior matches as a result, it does cast doubt as to whether he is ready to return to Arsene Wenger's side in the next few weeks.
Wilshere's future at Arsenal has been uncertain this summer, with clubs including Sampdoria understood to be interested in the 25-year-old.
