The summer transfer window
is in full flow and clubs across Europe are making moves as they look to
piece together the squad they need in time for the start of the season.
Our friends at Football Whispers have scoured the continental media forthe latest news and transfer rumours.
Spain
Zinedine Zidane is preparing for the arrival of Kylian Mbappe by letting Gareth Bale leave. The Real Madrid boss does not believe his squad needs the Monaco forward as well as the BBC (Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo) and believes out of the three, the squad would be least affected by the departure of the Wales international, in part due to his injury problems. If Bale doesn't leave, Mbappe's transfer may be in doubt. (Marca)Following the departure of Neymar to PSG, a Barcelona transfer target has emerged who is not a replacement for the Brazilian. Instead, they're targeting Real Sociedad defender Inigo Martinez and will have to pay his €32m (£29m) release clause. (Marca)
Barcelona have abandoned their plans to sign Antoine Griezmann. The Catalan club's president Josep Maria Bartomeu spoke with his Atletico Madrid counterpart Miguel Angel Gil Marin about a possible transfer, but agreed not to pursue the France international due to Atleti's transfer ban and the good relationship between the two sides.
