Obafemi Martins outshines Anthony Ujah in nine-goal thriller
The former Inter man was on song twice to outshine
his compatriot whose strike failed to help his side escape a heavy
defeat against Gus Poyet’s men
Martins' brace plus strikes from Giovanni Moreno, Fredy Guarin, Zheng Lu and Shi Xiaotian helped Gus Poyet’s men silence their foes.
Guarin netted the opener for the hosts in the 10th minutes and former Seattle Sounders man scored three minutes before Xiaotian's own goal increased the Flower of Shanghai's tally to 3-1.
In the 31st minute, Martins added the fourth and Moreno and Gurain scored the fifth and sixth goal with five minutes to the half time break.
On return from recess, Ujah pulled one back which eventually turned the consolation but Moreno recovered the homers six-goal advantage before Lu completed the rout.
The victory sees Martins' side move up to eighth in the Chinese Super League with 19 points from 14 games - nine points adrift of toppers Guangzhou.
Shehua visit 15-placed Jiangsu Suning in their next encounter on July 8.
