The Maiduguri Warriors are hosts of the Jos Elephants in Sunday’s top-flight matchday 27 clash at the Maiduguri Township Stadium.
Mathias said he is quite worried that his goals have dried up, especially since the commencement of the second stanza of the ongoing top-flight.
“I have scored 11 goals so far in the on-going top-flight but virtually all the goals
came in the first stanza of the league.
“I feel challenged and worried that goals have not been coming so far in the second stanza of the league.
“Personally, I’m not happy with my performance and I’m sure my teeming fans and supporters are equally worried.
“I want to plead with my teammates and fans not to lose faith in me as I’m determined to right the wrong starting with the clash against leaders, Plateau United.
“Nobody expected the humbling we suffered in the hands of Enyimba in the midweek match in Calabar.
“It was really a shocking result though we have decided to see it as one the surprises in the game of football.
“We have decided not to take it lightly with Plateau United as we have vowed to pass over same bitter message as we received it at Enyimba back to the side.
“We do not care whom they will thereafter pass the message to but the truth remains we will beat them convincingly,” said the former Kano Pillars goal poacher to supersport.com.
The Maiduguri landlords are fifth on the 20-team top-flight on 40 points, eight behind leaders and opponents, Plateau United.
