Marcus Rashford says Romelu Lukaku has joined Manchester United at the right time

By Allan Valente

Marcus Rashford is keen to form a formidable striking partnership with Romelu Lukaku and says the Belgian has joined Manchester United at the right time in his career.
Lukaku joined up with his new team-mates in California for United's pre-season preparations earlier this month after his transfer from Everton and Rashford believes it is the perfect time for the 24-year-old to move to Old Trafford after he scored 25 Premier League
goals last season.

The 19-year-old is keen to learn from the former Chelsea forward and says they can hit it off on the pitch the more they get to know each other off of it.

"He's gone through a phase in his career now and he's coming up to his prime years and he has been scoring a lot of goals for the last three or four years," Rashford said.

"I think he is in a good place in his career and he has probably come here at the right time.

"I think what I can learn from him and what we can learn from each other is when we play together it is getting the relationship off the pitch and bringing it on to the pitch.

"We are still getting to know each other off the pitch and that's what a team is, we have to get to know each other on and off the pitch."

Rashford scored 11 goals in all competitions last season but often came off the bench with Zlatan Ibrahimovic playing up front for United.

However, the England forward says he learned a great deal from the former AC Milan, Barcelona and PSG striker.

"There was a lot to learn from him, not only from the football side of things but just his mentality, the way he trains, the way he prepares for the games. They are the main things that I took," Rashford said.

"It is difficult because we have got different playing styles so to take a lot from his actual game is difficult, so I had to look outside of just football itself and try to take things from his personality and what makes him great."
