Jens Lehmann is in talks with Arsenal about a coaching role

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann is in talks with the club about a role as a first-team coach, according to Sky sources. 

Current goalkeeping coach Gerry Peyton will retain his position, while Lehmann will perform a more general role in the set-up.

Lehmann had two spells at the club as a player and was the goalkeeper for the 'Invincibles' team in the 2003-04 season, when Arsenal last won the
Premier League title.

Lehmann had two spells at the club as a player

The 47-year-old joined the club from Borussia Dortmund in July 2003 and made 200 first-team appearances for the Gunners and also won the FA Cup with the side in 2005.

He left Arsenal in 2008 to join Stuttgart and retired in 2010 before returning to the Gunners for a three-month spell in March 2011 as injury cover for Wojciech Szczesny, Lukasz Fabianski and Vito Mannone - making one further appearance.
