Odey scores 16th NPFL goal

Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) leading scorer Stephen Odey has extended his goals in this season's campaign to 16 after scoring in MFM FC's 2-1 win over Sunshine Stars on Wednesday.

Odey scored from the spot to hand MFM a 2-0 lead after 79th minute in the southwest derby.

It was the second time Odey will score in the second round of the season after he got among the goals in MFM's 1-3 reverse at Kano Pillars on Matchday 25.

The striker has accounted for 52 percent of the 31 goals scored by
his club MFM in the league this season.

He has scored 10 goals from open play, including a hat-trick while the six others have come from the spot in 22 league appearances.

Odey has also provided two assists in this season's league campaign as he aims to close in on Mfon Udoh's 23-goal record in a single season.
