WOZ MAKES STORMING START
The youngest player left in the draw, 19-year-old Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, is finding life in the blustery wind very tough against the experienced 11th seed Caroline Wozniacki, who has reached the Paris quarter-finals for the first time since 2010.

PRESSURE COOKER
LOCAL FAVOURITE ON COURT
Kristina Mladenovic, the 13th seed tipped as a potential Roland Garros champion after final appearances in Stuttgart and Madrid, will be backed by a hollering Court Philippe Chatrier crowd when she faces Swiss Timea Bacsinszky, a semi-finalist here in 2015.

Bacsinszky beat Mladenovic in three tight sets in their last meeting, a Fed Cup tie in February.
And the Swiss has broken in the first game after a shaky start by Mladenovic.

Novak Djokovic has promised that he won't be complacent when he faces Dominic Thiem in the quarter-finals of the French Open

BONJOUR ET BIENVENUE
Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic can set up a semi-final showdown with victories against Pablo Carreno Busta and Dominic Thiem respectively.

Nine-time French Open champion Nadal faces fellow countryman No 20 Pablo Carreno Busta on Court Philippe Chatrier. Nadal leads the head-to-head 3-0 against Carreno Busta.

Djokovic, the defending champion, takes on No 6 Dominic Thiem on Court Suzanne Lenglen in a rematch of their 2016 semi-final which Djokovic won in straight sets.

"I'm sure he's going to be as motivated as ever, so I expect him to come out and really play his best," said Djokovic, who has won all five matches, and 11 of 12 sets, he's played against Thiem. "I'm going to be ready for that."

There are some milestones at stake, too: Nadal can become the first man in the professional era to reach 10 semi-finals at Roland Garros while Djokovic can reach a seventh consecutive French Open semi-final and overtake Jimmy Connors with his 234th Grand Slam match win (Roger Federer's record is 314).

In the women's quarter-finals, former world No 1 Caroline Wozniacki meets 19-year-old Jelena Ostapenko, and home hope Kristina Mladenovic faces Timea Bacsinszky.
