Aliko has described as fulfilling the clean sheet against top-flights
Rivers United.
The Ikon Allah Boys piped the Pride of Rivers 1-0 in a midweek, top-flight, matchday 23 clash at adopted ground Confluence Stadium in Lokoja.
Attacking midfielder Musa Abdullahi Wakili converted a spot kick to hand his side the crucial victory against the Port Harcourt Landlords.
Aliko said he has kept nine clean sheets so far in the top-flight but insisted his eyes are set on 15 by the time the curtain falls on the league.
“I’m happy to have kept a clean sheet against a strong side like Rivers United, a performance that earned me the man of the match.
“I have kept nine clean sheets in the league so far and I’m not relenting as my personal target is 15 clean sheets as well as to emerge the best goalkeeper in the on-going top-flight.
“The game was difficult as the visitors, Rivers United, proved themselves as a very strong side.
“I can say we actually used our last breathe to overcome and subdue the Port Harcourt outfit.
“We are happy to have achieved our aim – the three points at stake against a traditional side, Rivers United.
“We are challenged to fight harder in the remaining matches aimed at achieving our season’s target – a continental ticket,” said Aliko to supersport.com.
The Minna Landlords are sixth on the 20-team top-flight log on 36 points, six behind league leaders Plateau United.
