FC Robo Queens striker Esther Ndubuisi is excited that her brace greatly helped her side to unse

The Akure landladies were put in front by defensive midfielder Goodness Iyoma to lead 1-0 at half time while the Lagos side came back strongly to pump in three goals off the feet
of talisman Rasheedat Ajibade and brace heroine Ndubuisi to hand the side the three points at stake.

Ndubuisi said her side played better than their experienced and matured opponents, Sunshine Queens, to ably deserve their hard-fought victory.

“I feel very happy scoring my side’s two goals in the 3-1 win against experienced side Sunshine Queens.

“I was down and disappointed when we went into the half-time break trailing 0-1 to the opponents, Sunshine Queens.

“The pep talk our coach gave us in the locker room turned out to be the magic wand that brought out the best in us.

“However, I will not say it’s solely and truly our own doing but God’s grace and favour upon us.
“Sunshine Stars are a good side and actually proved their worth going in front in the encounter.
“Coming all the way from Akure to confront us here may have weighed them down greatly. I give them kudos.

“Of course, the best team won, the result is quite comprehensive and we deserved our hard-earned victory.

“I’m happy with what we are able to achieve in the first stanza of the league. I’m confident we will come back into the second stanza stronger to perform even better,” said Ndubuisi to supersport.com.

The hard-fought victory over Sunshine Stars takes FC Robo Queens' points haul to 11, one point behind group league leaders Rivers Angels.
