The Masu Gida defender has praised the Desert Warriors' home record, but claims they are focused on causing an upset
Jamiu Alimi is optimistic that Kano Pillars will get something positive from Maiduguri when they face El Kanemi Warriors on Sunday.

The four-time Nigerian champions are in for a tough task
against the Desert Warriors who are yet to suffer a home defeat since April 16, 2016.

"The clear edge we have over El Kanemi Warriors is the belief in the team, we are determined to come out victorious in Maiduguri. El Kanemi Warriors is a very difficult side at home, but we are focused on getting the desired result there on Sunday," Alimi told Goal.

"El-Kanemi Warriors home record is intimidating but what matters is what each team brings to the table on match day.

"I'll like to praise our fans for their selfless effort. They've have been outstanding and that has helped us to do more. I will like to charge them to continue to cheers us on to victory."
The former Shooting Stars defender noted that he isn't satisfied with his performance this term and admitted that the 1-1 draw away to Rivers United was a tough one for him.

"I haven't been satisfied with my performance as I would have loved to, but I haven't relented on hard work but I know so well that I am improving," he added.

"My most difficult this season so far is the match against Rivers United in Port Harcourt, even though we drew, it was very difficult. We were stretched to the limit but we held on to pick up a point."
