Golbe fancies Plateau's chance at Rivers

Elisha Golbe

Plateau United skipper Elisha Golbe says his side's Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash with Rivers United on Wednesday will be a "classic".
The Jos-based side are top of the NPFL log going into the midweek games and will test the might of Rivers United who have not had the best of time in the 2016/17 season after their second place finish last term.

Rivers United have lost three games on the bounce and will seek redemption when they host Plateau United who were 4-1 winners
over ABS FC last weekend.

Golbe, who has been one of the shining lights of an impressive Plateau United side, insists his team can get all three points in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
“Port Harcourt is always a difficult place to come to, but we trust our abilities,” Golbe told supersport.com.

“They (Rivers United) are a good side but we want to get at least a point in Port Harcourt. We respect them a lot but we also have a good team.
“The game will be tough, but we are going to do our best and make sure that we get something out of the game.”
When asked the secret to Plateau United’s blistering start to the season, Golbe said hard work and determination has been the key.

"It's all about hard work. Hard work and determination has taken us to the top. Team work and discipline has also been part of what has helped us to be at the top of the league,” the free-kick specialist said.

“I’m happy to be the captain of this side and leading the team to the top of the league table.
“We have our targets and we are working on it. Despite the fact that we are up there it won’t count for much if we don’t meet our target of winning the league or getting a continental slot at the end of the season. We are ready for the battle in Port Harcourt.”
