Enugu Rangers will retain the NPFL title, says Chukwu
The
Flying Antelopes legend believes the Enugu-based outfit are capable of retaining the diadem they won last season
The Flying Antelopes won their first Nigerian topflight title in 32 years in the 2015/16 season, and the former Super Eagles’ coach believes defending the title this season will be tougher than playing in the Caf Champions’ League.
He also stated that coach Imama Amapakabo's men are working very hard to improve on their performance in the league this term.
“We are getting set just like every other teams,
we have played some matches just to assess our team. I’m sure by the time the season finally kicks off we will be fully ready,” Chukwu told Goal.
“We are hoping to retain the title at the end of the season but we know it will not be easy.
"It will be very difficult, more difficult than the Champions League because it is easy to go to the top, but very difficult to remain there.
“So I know Rangers will be number one target of every club but we will withstand the pressure and make sure we stay there for some time."
