5 months after, Senate to screen Magu as EFCC chairman
President Buhari had, in June this year, forwarded a request for Magu’s confirmation to the Senate but the matter had since not featured on the Senate’s agenda.
Senate President Bukola Saraki, had in July, 2016 read the letter from President Muhammadu Buhari appointing Magu as chairman of the EFCC but nothing tangible has been heard from the side of the Senate on the confirmation.
Ekweremadu urged senators to turn up for the legislative exercise, which he said, would be done by the committee of the Whole.
Magu might, however, have serious questions to answer as quite a number of the senators who had governed as state governors have one issue or the other with the agency.
Magu became the acting chairman of the commission in November, 2015 after the expiration of the tenure of his predecessor, Ibrahim Lamorde.
