Just when Marriaga was picking up the pace Valdez dropped him with a left hook in the tenth round, but he came back strongly to take the fight to the champion.
On the same card Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez, 35-0; 24, dominated Max Bursak, 33-5-1; 15, to retain his WBO super-middleweight belt, through twelve one-sided rounds to score a unanimous points decision. The scores were 120-106 on all three judges

Dos Santos managed to hold on but a big right cross sent him down again. He beat the count, but when he wasn’t fighting back the referee waved that fight off at 2:51 into the round.
2016 USA Olympian Shakur Stevenson, making his pro debut, won on a sixth-round technical decision over Edgar Brito, 3-3-1; 2.
