‘NPFL summit possible’

Samuel Mathias

El Kanemi Warriors attacking midfielder, Samuel Mathias has said his side are ripe for the leadership of the Nigerian top-flight.

The Maiduguri Warriors are guests of FC IfeanyiUbah in Sunday’s top-flight matchday 14 clash at the IfeanyiUbah International Stadium in Nnewi.

Mathias said his side’s quality in the ongoing top-flight is a huge scare and worry to
their opponents, FC IfeanyiUbah.

“Right now our opponents are scared stiff each time we called because of our position on the log and quality of players in our fold.

“Our opponents are condemned to expect the toughest match as we have proven to be good travellers.
“We hope to take full advantage of our position on the league table to trip the Nnewi outfit.

“We are very much at ease on away match than the home one so I’m sure FC IfeanyiUbah are scared and worried of our coming.

“FC IfeanyiUbah are good side with some qualities but we have done our homework well to make the clash quite easy for us.

“We will certainly take the maximum three points at the expense of the hosts, FC IfeanyiUbah or worst case scenario we share the points.

“Our target is the top-flight summit and with good performance at FC IfeanyiUbah we are certain to take over the top spot.

“Once we are able to achieve the feat other challengers could as well forget about the league crown,” said the Warriors marksman to supersport.com.

The Maiduguri-based side are second on the 20-team top-flight with 24 points, one behind league leaders Plateau United.
