Golovkin in a real fight

When Genady Golovkin defends his WBA, WBC, IBF and IBO middleweight titles against Daniel Jacobs, the WBA regular champion, at the Madison Square in New York on Saturday night, he will possibly be having a real fight against a fully fledged middleweight.
In his last fight on September 9 last year Golovkin stopped IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook who bulked up to middleweight but
he took a lot of shots from Brook before stopping him in the fifth round.
The 34-year-old Golovkin, 36-0; 33, is much smaller than the 30-year-old Jacobs, 32-1; 9, who has distinctive reach and height advantages.
Golovkin, from Karaganda in Kazakhstan, but now based in Los Angeles, California, has taken part in 17 world title fights and won his last 23 inside the distance. The last time he was forced to go the distance was on June 21, 2008 when he outpointed Amar Ari over eight rounds in Denmark.
There is no doubt that Jacobs is a step up in competition after his last two opponents, Dominic Wade and Brook.
Jacobs, who made his pro debut in December 2007, is a power puncher with 29 wins inside the distance and won his first 20 fights before losing to Dmitry Pirog in a clash for the vacant WBO middleweight belt.
Jacobs, from Brooklyn, New York, was ahead through the first four rounds before Pirog stopped him in the fifth round.
This is an intriguing fight with Jacobs possibly extending Golovkin, but then Golovkin could power through and win inside the distance as he always does.
Golovkin is the WBA “super” champion and Billy Joe Saunders from England is the WBO champion.
ROMAN GONZALEZ V SRISAKET SOR RUNGVISAI
On the undercard 29-year-old Roman Gonzalez, 46-0; 38, from Nicaragua, who is considered the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, defends his WBC junior bantamweight belt against the Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (aka Wisakil Wangek) of Thailand, who has record of 41-4-1; 38.
Rungvisai , 30, who fights from the southpaw stance, is a former WBC junior bantamweight champion and is on a 14-fight winning streak since losing to Carlos Cuadras on a technical decision in May 2014.
The other junior bantamweight champions are Khalid Yafai (WBA), Jerwin Ancajas (IBF) and Naoya Inoue (WBO).
