CCL: Rivers United focused in hostile Sudan, says Simon
Stanley Eguma's charges take a three goal lead to the
second leg, and the the former Abia United striker said they won't be
intimidated by the Sudanese supporters
The Pride of Rivers won the first leg of the
Round of 32 tie 3-0 at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium.
And Simon believes Stanley Eguma's side have the courage and quality to survive the pressure in Sudan.
"We knew what to expect right from the airport when their fans were telling us that they will defeat us by 4-0," Simone told Goal.
"We know that the support will be there for the home team, but we are focused for this mission and determined to get the required result, and we are high on confident that we can do it.
"Since that's our approach to the match, we shall aim for a win here in Sudan even though we know that it won't be easy at all.
"We had a smooth trip to Sudan, we have settled in well and the determination in everyone's face is very encouraging.
"We have a 3-0 advantage from the first leg but we aren't seeing it that way. We are heading into this match as if it's a final, where previous result doesn't count," he concluded.
