Amoo happy with goalkeeper

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) head coach Fatai Amoo has hailed Abubakar Adamu as the hero of the top-flight clash against Katsina United.

The Oluyole Warriors held top-flight newcomers Katsina United to 1-1 draw in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 9 clash at the Karkandar Stadium in Katsina.

Nasiru Sani scored from the spot to hand his side the lead while substitute Kayode Olaniran levelled the scores for the Ibadan landlords.

“Kayode Olaniran gave us relief, otherwise the story would have been that we
played well but with nothing to show for it.

“We are grateful to him and his teammates for their good performances in the match as well as the 1-1 draw on the road.

“Olaniran has stepped in on several occasions to score vital goals for us.

“I’m happy that we played better than we did at former Nigerian champions Kano Pillars where we went in front, but still lost 1-2.

“However, I want to say that Abubakar Adamu was the hero of the match and the reason we claimed a point in the encounter with his wonderful saves.

“He truly kept us in the game despite stiff challenges coming from the hosts.

“This result will boost our confidence for the rescheduled matchday 7 clash at Wikki Tourists in Bauchi on Wednesday.

“The match is certain to be tough but we hope to come out with something decent and positive,” said the former Sunshine Stars coach to supersport.com.

The point at Katsina United takes 3SC's points haul to eight from a possible 27 with two matches in hand against Wikki Tourists and champions Enugu Rangers.
