Antonio Conte's side league leaders have not dropped
points since being beaten by Arsenal back in September, a run they have
achieved for a record fifth time
Chelsea's 1-0 win over West Brom extended the Blues' winning run to
nine games, the fifth time the club have won nine or more games in a
row, which is also a new Premier League record.
Costa fires Chelsea back to the top
A single goal by Diego Costa was enough to give Antonio Conte's side
victory and moves them three points clear at the top of the table.
The Blues have not dropped points since being beaten by Arsenal back
in September, a run that has included victories over champions
Leicester, Manchester United, Tottenham and Manchester City.
However, this is not the first time Chelsea have achieved such a
remarkable run, they also won nine games in a row in 2007 and 2005 - on
their way to the title.
Conte's side will now be hoping to extend that run to 10 games, a
feat they also achieved in 2009, when they face Sunderland before taking
on Crystal Palace next Saturday. |
