Omagbemi hands November 8 deadline to Super Falcons foreign pros


Nigeria's senior women coach Florence Omagbemi has set Tuesday, November 8 deadline for oversea-based players yet to report to camp ahead of this month's Africa Women's Cup of Nations.


Omagbemi, who have won the African women title for four times, is hoping to have a full complement of her team for preparations with 17 days to the start of this year's continental showpiece in Cameroon.

"We have sorted out the arrival dates between the [foreign-based] players, the Federation and myself,"  Omagbemi told media.

"We have been communicating to them their time of arrival. And we all have the date that they will come.
"Hopefully by the first week of November, most likely November 8 we expect everyone to be in camp."
As at Tuesday morning, Francisca Ordega, Esther Sunday and Ebere Ngozi are the three foreign-based players to have joined the 22 home-based teammates in camp at the Serob Hotel in Abuja.

Asisat Oshoala, Ngozi Okobi, Faith Ikidi, Halimatu Ayinde, Rita Chikwelu, Onome Ebi, Sunday Uchechi, Desire Oparanozie and captain Evelyn Nwabuoku completes the list of nine overseas-based players still expected in camp.

Nigeria has been drawn in Group B against Mali, Ghana, and Kenya as they kick start their campaign against Mali on November 20 in Limbe.
